Star Clippers Introduces the Largest Full-Rigged Sailing Ship in the World
The Star Clippers Royal Clipper ship was inspired by the tall ship Preussen, which was in 1902 the largest, fastest sailing ship ever. The Royal Clipper is a splendid sight with her 42 sails. Would you like the chance to sail the warm, beautiful waters of the Caribbean from Barbados with me? Your opportunity is NOW, as the pricing is amazing for the January 19 sailing from Barbados round trip in 2019. Join our “fun in the sun” group and get special pricing for a vacation to remember!
The Royal Clipper is “as new as tomorrow” with her state of the art navigation system, 3 swimming pools, 439 feet of grand sailing amenities as well as 19,000 square feet of open deck. A convenient marina platform lowers for easy access to ocean water sports. Hang out in the bowsprit net and suspend above the ocean, or climb (with a safety harness) to the “crow’s nest” 75 feet above the water level! Grab a cocktail at the outdoor Tropical bar and meet your fellow passengers. The ship carries just 227 guests.
The interior spaces are luxurious and simply beautiful. The Piano Bar is ideal for pre-dinner drinks and fun. The restaurant, with sunlight pouring in from the 3 deck-atrium, features open-seating dining. There is a “no-tie” dress code, so enjoy the deliciously prepared cuisine in a relaxed atmosphere. The Captain Nemo Lounge is intriguingly unique with it’s underwater glass portholes.
Life on board a Star Clippers ship means that there are no rigid schedules…how refreshing! You are free to do as you wish. Local entertainers will give you a taste of island music and arts. There’s a daily Captain’s briefing that is both captivating and informative. Try some knot tying or a navigation class? Gather around the piano Bar and sing a few of your favorite tunes. You get the picture! It’s a laid back ambiance you will enjoy immensely.
Culinary pleasures await. Feel free to dine whenever you want and with whom. Often the officers will join guests, and sometimes, if the ship is in port, you are treated to a festive barbecue on shore. Breakfasts and lunches include savory omelettes, grilled meats, tropical fruits and seafood salads. Afternoons in the Tropical Bar you will find an impressive buffet of snacks to tide you over until dinner. Every delicious course served at your evening ala carte dinner is complemented by equally fine wines. If you are wanting to learn a few culinary tips, you might want to consider one of the culinary cruises featuring some of Europe’s top sommeliers and chefs.
Rest in your cabin as if in a fine luxury hotel. I believe there is nothing so divine as falling asleep to the gentle sway of a ship at sea, waking refreshed and ready to enjoy another fabulous day of adventure. You will be surrounded by all the amenities you expect on vacation: beds that can be converted to a king, a spacious bathroom (most decked in marble), a private safe, flat screen TVs, DVD player, complimentary movie rentals, in-room phone, a hairdryer, and comfy furnishings. The nautical decor is soothingly familiar. Your attentive room steward will know exactly when you may need services and when to leave you to your privacy. On Royal Clipper there are 14 deluxe suites with private verandahs, mini bars, whirlpool tubs and 24 hour room service. All but six of the 114 cabins are outside. The two 430-square foot Owner’s Suites may be combined to accommodate up to eight guests comfortably.
